The problem with comparisons is that they are rarely accurate. When we compare ourselves to others, we often have an inaccurate picture of who they really are. We may fall for the “pintrest perfect” version or be tempted to accept their worst day as normative. The same is true when assessing ourselves. We can often swing between our pride or self-loathing, so that our estimations of ourselves are skewed and not an accurate picture of who we are.
The good news is that God is not inhibited by the same problem. He knows each of us completely and sees us as we are. This of course is only good news if our hope is in Christ. Otherwise, it is quite terrifying to thing that a all-knowing, all-powerful God stands in judgement of us. Join us as we consider the judgments of God.
